This is a translation of the French terms of use. If the two versions differ, the French version prevails.
1. Publisher and host
The Le Secrétaire app (the “App”) is published by Voidstorm SAS, a French simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée) with a share capital of €10, registered with the Nantes Trade and Companies Register under number 932 777 154 (the “Publisher”).
- Contact: contact@lesecretaire.app
- Publication director: Karim Harat
- Host: OVH SAS, RCS Lille Métropole 424 761 419 00045, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France
2. Purpose and acceptance
These terms of use (the “Terms”) set out the rules for using the App, which lets you scan, sort, search and keep personal documents.
By creating an account or using the App, you accept the Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.
How your personal data is processed is described in the privacy policy, which supplements the Terms.
3. Account and access
You sign in with Sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a link sent by email. The App does not use passwords.
- You must be at least 15 years old. Purchases must be made by an adult or with a parent’s consent.
- An account is personal. You must not share it or transfer it.
- You are responsible for the security of your devices and your email address, as they give access to your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from the App (see section 6).
4. Features
The App comes in a free version and a Pro version. Artificial intelligence features are only used with your consent.
Free version. You can scan and import documents, which are converted to PDF and kept on your device. The local tools work without sending anything to our servers.
Smart analysis (with consent). If you agree, your documents are sent to our servers for automatic reading (OCR) and analysis by artificial intelligence models. The result is used to sort the document (type, date, amount, etc.). You can withdraw your consent at any time in the settings. AI features are then turned off, and the rest of the App keeps working.
Pro version (paid). It includes in particular:
- smart document analysis;
- natural-language search;
- export with a watermark or password;
- encrypted cloud storage, available across several devices;
- a quota of 100 pages per month, plus 100 free pages at the start of the subscription.
Unused pages do not carry over to the following month.
Beta version. During the beta, testers get free access to the Pro version. Bugs and data loss may occur: keep a copy of your important documents.
The Publisher may change the features. It will not remove an essential feature of the Pro version during a period that has already been paid for.
5. Subscriptions, purchases and cancellation
Payments are handled by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play, depending on the device you use. The Publisher never receives your banking details.
| Plan | Price incl. VAT | Renewal | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro yearly | €49.99 / year | Automatic, every year | 14 days |
| Pro monthly | €8.99 / month | Automatic, every month | No |
| 100-page pack | €2.99 | One-time purchase, no renewal | No |
Prices may vary by country and currency. The price shown in the store at the time of purchase applies.
Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the same price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Free trial. At the end of the trial, the yearly subscription starts and you are charged, unless you cancelled it beforehand.
Cancellation. You cancel from your Apple account settings or in Google Play > Subscriptions. Pro access stays active until the end of the paid period. Deleting the App or your account does not cancel the subscription with the store.
Price changes. Any increase is announced to you in advance by the store, according to its rules. You can cancel before it takes effect.
Right of withdrawal. By purchasing a subscription or a pack, you request immediate access to the digital service and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal, in accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code.
Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google, according to their own rules.
6. Your data, encryption and deletion
Your documents belong to you. All data is hosted in France.
Local storage. Without a Pro subscription, your documents stay on your device. You are responsible for backing them up: if you lose or reset the device, the Publisher cannot recover them.
Encrypted storage (Pro). Documents stored in the cloud are encrypted with a key that belongs to you alone. The Publisher cannot read them.
Recovery phrase. When you turn on encrypted storage, the App gives you a 24-word recovery phrase. It is the only way to recover your documents on a new device if you no longer have access to an old one. Keep it somewhere safe and never share it. If you lose it, the Publisher will not be able to recover it and your encrypted documents will be lost for good.
Analysis. For smart analysis, the document is read on our servers, then passed to our AI provider, which does not keep the data. The results are sent back to you encrypted. Details are in the privacy policy.
Account deletion. You can delete your account in the settings. All your data is then erased within 14 days. Encrypted backup copies are erased as they rotate out, within about 30 days.
Usage statistics. The App collects anonymous usage statistics. You can turn them off in the settings.
7. Your commitments
You use the App for your own documents, or for documents you have the right to process. You agree not to:
- import illegal content or content obtained without permission;
- use the App to harm others or invade their privacy;
- try to get around quotas, payments or technical protections;
- copy, decompile or modify the App, except where the law allows it;
- overload or disrupt the service, in particular through automated requests.
8. Service limits and liability
Automatic analysis can make mistakes. Always check important information against the original document.
- No advice. The App does not give any legal, tax, accounting or medical advice.
- No legally valid archiving. The App is not a certified digital safe. Keep the originals the law requires you to keep.
- Availability. The Publisher does its best to keep the service running continuously, but cannot guarantee it. Interruptions may occur, in particular for maintenance.
- Liability. The Publisher is not liable for damage caused by misuse, by the loss of your recovery phrase or your device, or by an event beyond its control.
Nothing in the Terms limits your rights as a consumer, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (articles L224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code).
9. Intellectual property
The App, its code, its name and its visuals belong to the Publisher. You receive a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the App on your devices, for as long as you have an account.
You keep all your rights to your documents. You only authorise the Publisher to process them as far as needed to provide the service.
10. Suspension, changes and disputes
Suspension. In the event of a serious breach of the Terms, the Publisher may suspend or close your account, after notifying you except in an emergency. You will then be able to retrieve your documents for a reasonable period, unless the law forbids it.
Changes to the Terms. The Publisher may change the Terms. It will notify you in the App at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect. If you refuse, you can cancel and delete your account.
Governing law. The Terms are governed by French law.
If you downloaded the App from Google Play, your purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
